Community Volunteers of SEEDS India trained on Light Search and Rescue (LSAR) and Basic Emergency Medical Response (BEMR)
A three-day training on Light Search and Rescue (LSAR-1002) and One-day training on Basic Emergency Medical Response (BEMR-1001) was conducted in Delhi, India during 18-21 December, 2013 for the community volunteers of SEEDS India. The training was organized by SEEDS India with the technical support from NSET at SEEDS Office, New Delhi.
The training was conducted by a set of nine instructors of which five full instructors were from NSET, and four assistant Instructors were from SEEDS India. Altogether 24 volunteers of SEEDS got trained on light search and rescue and basic emergency medical response.
NSET has been widely providing these trainings for communities in Nepal and now there has been successful addition of 24 community members from India to the list.
The training was very fruitful and markedly, good and organized standard of the training; equally competent instructors; good overall content very useful skills and mode of delivery, remained the impression from the participants.
Dr. Manu Gupta, Executive Director of SEEDS India in his remarks highlighted the importance of this training, especially in achieving the “End Rescuers” from the local communities of India and expressed his intention for conducting these types of training and advance trainings in the days to come for safer communities.
