Teachers trained on School Based Disaster Preparedness Training of Trainer (SBDP-TOT)


As a component of the Disaster Preparedness for Safer Schools in Nepal (DPSS II) Program four different School Based Disaster Preparedness Training of Trainer (SBDP-TOT) were conducted jointly by NSET and Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) with support from American Red Cross for the non-program schools of Rasuwa and Nuwakot during December 2013. A total of 95 (36 female and 59 male) teachers from the schools of Rasuwa and Nuwakot attended the 5-day SBDP-TOT.

The teachers are now capable of and will prepare earthquake preparedness plan and conduct earthquake drill in their schools. The trained teachers will further facilitate in other Disaster Preparedness trainings and conduct the PEER learning sessions. They are now able to apply the Disaster Preparedness tools at the concerned school, their home and community.
