5th series of TFI under Baliyo Ghar concludes! NRA Spokesperson says, "Government will utilize the attained skills of Graduates"
One more batch of Training for Instructors (TFI) has been produced under NSET-Baliyo Ghar Program with the completion of 5th series of the course. Altogether, 28 participants; Engineers, Administration Professionals, and Social Development Officers engaged in Post-earthquake activities benefited from the training. Mr. Pitambar Ghimre, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) and Dr. Ramesh Guragain, Deputy Executive Director of NSET were present to handover certificate of completion to the TFI graduates.
Addressing Closing Ceremony of the training course organized in Khusi Khusi Resort, Kathmandu, Mr. Ghimire encouraged participants to contribute their best in post-earthquake reconstruction activities and implement the knowledge and skills gained through training. He said, "The TFI training is like Commando Training as I learnt, you were the lucky ones to participate as we have less TFI graduates in Nepal and on behalf of NRA and government as well I commit to utilize the skills and knowledge you have attained during the course."
Putting his remarks in the ceremony, Dr. Guragain shared his experience of conducting TFI in Nepal and its impact in enhancing the personal skills of instructors and develop qualitative trainings.
Participants representing Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC), Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS), Housing Reconstruction and Recovery Platform (HRRP) and NSET actively participated the five-day with significant change in their knowledge and personal skills as they say. One of the participants, Mr. Bibek Sigdel, Engineer of DUDBC said, "The last 5 days I have spent during the TFI course have been the most qualitative days in my life, it has enhanced my knowledge, capacities and reinforced personal skills that will be valuable for my life. The skills achieved will surely help in managing and imparting effective training programs in the days to come."
The training was held during September 17-21, 2018 at Khusi Khusi Resort, Matatirtha, Kathmadu. With the completion of this TFI, altogether 140 TFI graduates have been produced under Baliyo Ghar Program and it was the last TFI Program as of the plan of project so-far. Baliyo Ghar organized 3 TFI in Nepali and 2 TFI in English as the language of instruction.
TFI is a rigorous 5-day instructor development course. The purpose of the course is to provide the participants with a training methodology and specific personal skills that will assist them in improving their knowledge and skills to develop, present and manage effective training programs.
Baliyo Ghar program is a technical assistance program to support government initiatives to ensure safer reconstruction in Nepal through trainings, orientations, house to house technical assistance and mass awareness campaigns.
