NSET is the leading Nepali organization working for last 3 decades in the areas of earthquake risk management and multi-hazard risk reduction. NSET has remained key contributor to
the efforts of government and communities towards building disaster resilient communities.
In times of earthquakes and other disaster events, NSET provides support to all tiers of government and communities to respond to the emergency situation in more organized and
effective ways. NSET monitors the progression of emergency situation and disseminates science-based facts and ideas to save lives during disaster times, NSET works on damage and
needs assessments and contributes on developing short, medium and long term recovery and reconstruction strategies and plans, and helps implementing them.

Since the moment 6.4ML earthquake hit western Nepal on Nov 3, 2023, NSET has deployed its organizational networks to gather information from authorized government agencies, media
and local contacts on shaking and its impacts, and subsequently provided, on timely basis, the correct information on the events and useful messages on saving lives. NSET
disseminates tips and guiding notes on understanding earthquake phenomena, building performance, and safe behavior focusing to the affected people and to responding agencies and
teams. NSET disseminates information through media partners, mass media and also through social media platforms and website.
