NSET seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates for the program "Institutional Capacity Strengthening for Safe Schools and climate change mitigation and adaptation action in Nepal" funded by UNICEF:

NSET seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates for the program “Institutional Capacity Strengthening for Safe Schools and climate change mitigation and adaptation action in Nepal” funded by UNICEF:
Position: Program Officer
No. of Positions: Three
Work Station: Kathmandu Valley
Appointment Type: Full Time for 12 months with possibility of extension
Required Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities/Social Science
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in Education Sector on Emergency and Disaster preparedness for climate change mitigation and adaptation and Comprehensive schools Safety
Language: Nepali and English in speaking, reading, and writing are required
Preferable: Preference will be given to the local candidates. Candidate from disadvantage group and women are encouraged to apply.
Skills and abilities required:
» Familiar with computer software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
» Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skill
» Competent in English and Nepali typing.
Main Responsibilities:
» Provide necessary support to implement program activities to strengthened education system that promotes to manage risks and improved school safety and inclusive education continuity management at program municipality.
» Provide TA support to local governments on implementation of CSSMP.
» Provide TA support to provincial and local governments for education cluster functions; coordination and reporting.
» Capacitate local government and schools to develop and implement education sector emergency response plan including CSS and CEE components.
» Provide technical support for strengthening local government system for safe and green school and prepare a climate change and mitigation actions for schools.
» Facilitate meeting, workshop and seminars for school SMC, teachers, child clubs, and related stakeholders.
» Technical assistant to Implement safe schools and climate change mitigation and adaptation actions at schools, conduct campaign for awareness and advocacy on greening schools and climate risk mitigation and adaptation.
» Provide technical support to conduct Emergency drill at program schools, prepare program progress report.
» Facilitate LGs level Symposium/workshop/meetings on greening school and climate change initiatives and education cluster functions.
» Facilitate interaction among Students, Teachers, Communities and LG Officials on resilience education plan and provisions.
» Document the CSS functions at local level and monitor CSSMP indicators.
» Perform task as assigned by line manager.
