This project aimed at institutional development, capacity building and sustainable activities in disaster risk reduction at the community level. The 15 month project had six major objectives related to empowering the grassroots community including women, children, and people with disabilities, under privileged and marginalized population.
The activities included awareness and education, training programs, drill and model structural and non structural mitigation to community light search and rescue exercises.The project worked in three communities in Kathmandu Valley with active participation of concerned local government
