Safer Schools, Critical Facilities and Heritage (SSCFH) Division
The Safer Schools, Critical Facilities and Heritage (SSCFH) Division aims to develop safe learning environment and resilient infrastructures in the communities. Specific objectives are to assist or contribute to build safe learning facilities through retrofit and rebuilding of schools and education infrastructures, develop guidelines, manuals and training curricula on disaster risk reduction, preparedness and management system for schools, assist to build disaster risk reduction, preparedness and management system in schools, assist in inclusion of concepts of risk reduction and resilience into school curricula, assist to ensure safe, accessible and resilient critical facilities and lifeline systems by strengthening or constructing resilient structures, support to develop quality assurance systems for local infrastructure by preparing specification of works of critical lifelines and more.
The division has 2 units: the Safer Schools Unit and the Engineering for Safer Infrastructures (ESI) Unit.
