NSET is proud to be part of Category Award Winner (Seismic Isolation – Project) for the PVC-s Seismically Isolated Shree Adarsha Secondary School, Nepal
This innovative project is a joint initiative of the University of Bristol, Arup, and the National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal (NSET), implemented at Shree Adarsha Secondary School in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Recognized by Anti-Seismic Systems International Society (ASSISi), this award highlights excellence in innovative seismic isolation design and collaborative engineering solutions for safer schools.

Sustainable Consumption and Production Innovation Award 2023

The NSET-Nepal has been awarded the Sustainable Consumption and Production Innovation Award 2023 under the category Public Sector Housing Solutions during the 9th Asia-Pacific Housing Forum, held in October 2023 in Suwon, South Korea.

Letter of Appreciation, National Reconstruction Authority-2021

Letter of Appreciation from Nepal’s National Reconstruction Authority, Government of Nepal for NSET’s leadership in policy development, technical training, and hands on support that strengthened Nepal’s housing recovery after the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake.

Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) – International Centre of Excellence, 2016

NSET is recognized by the IRDR Scientific Committee as an International Centre of Excellence (ICoE). This endorsement is for the its strong program design, effective partnerships, and its crucial role in strengthening the global science‑policy interface for disaster risk reduction.

Letter of Appreciation – Nepali Army (COAS Commendation), 2016

NSET received a commendation from the Nepali Army for its collaboration and contribution in post‑earthquake rescue efforts, earthquake technology, and preparedness and disaster management. The recognition highlights NSET’s support in conducting trainings, workshops, and joint exercises that strengthened national disaster response capacity.

Disaster Mitigation Award – Second India Disaster Management Congress 2009

Dr. Amod Mani Dixit was honored with the Disaster Mitigation Award at the Second India Disaster Management Congress 2009 for NSET’s longstanding contributions to advancing disaster risk reduction in Nepal and the region. The recognition highlights his leadership in earthquake safety initiatives, policy development, community‑based preparedness, training programs, and advocacy efforts that have strengthened national and regional resilience to disasters.

Certificate of Recognition – Earthquake Reconstruction & Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA), Pakistan-2007

NSET is recognized for its outstanding contribution in conceptualizing and delivering training in Earthquake‑Resistant Building Technology, and for supporting ERRA in implementing its national training strategy following the 2005 earthquake.

Letter of Appreciation, UNDP Pakistan- March 2006

NSET received Letter of Appreciation for its exemplary contribution to capacity‑building programs in earthquake‑affected areas of Pakistan and AJK. The recognition highlights NSET’s innovative training approaches, technical expertise in seismic‑resilient construction, and dedicated support during the post‑2005 Kashmir earthquake recovery efforts.

RONAST, Pragya–Pratisthan Science and Technology Promotion Award, 2005

NSET received the prestigious Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (RONAST) Pragya–Pratisthan Science and Technology Promotion Award recognizing outstanding contributions in earthquake risk assessment, awareness building, and the promotion of earthquake resistant construction.
Dr. Amod Mani Dixit was honored for advancing methodologies in earthquake risk assessment and strengthening public understanding of vulnerability reduction.

Tech Museum Award 2001 – Microsoft Education Category

NSET was honored with the Tech Museum Award in San Jose, Silicon Valley, California under the `Microsoft Education Award’ category for its innovative low tech “Shake Table” technology, recognized globally for empowering communities to reduce earthquake risk. Selected from over 580 nominees representing 80 countries, NSET was recognized for creating practical, scalable, and community centered disaster reduction solutions.

United Nations Sasakawa Award for Disaster Reduction (2001)

NSET received the UN Sasakawa Certificate of Merit in Geneva, Switzerland, recognizing its outstanding contributions to disaster reduction and its role in advancing the goals of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR). Selected by an international jury, the award honors NSET’s impactful work in promoting a global culture of prevention and reducing community vulnerability to natural hazards.
