Enhancing Community Earthquake Preparedness through Women Network: A Collaborative Initiative - Training of Trainers
A Training of Trainers (TOT) has been started today for selected active and leading community members on the various aspects and details of earthquake safety measures. 34 selected members of two women's group Community Women Forum (CWF) of Thankot and Kirtipur Women's Group (KWG) are being trained who will be mobilized later in door to door campaign in the community and other activities. This TOT includes the basics of earthquake safer construction, methods of non-structural vulnerability assessment and mitigation, and earthquake preparedness. This training also includes the concepts and details of Earthquake GO BAG, Household Emergency Kits, and skills for motivating people for risk reduction. Under Door to Door campaign, TOT graduates will visit each household and provide orientation to the house-owners particularly women members on earthquake preparedness and non-structural mitigation.
