Resource Person Development Program has been held focused on Comprehensive School Safety (CSS) including climate change adaptation & mitigation, and green school. 

A two-day program for development of resource-person skills on comprehensive school safety (CSS) including climate change adaptation & mitigation, and green school took place during February 12-13, 2025, at Hotel Landmark Forest Park, Sauraha, Chitwan.

Under the guidance of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) and with the support from UNICEF, the capacity development program has been organized by the National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET).

The primary objective of this event has been to enhance the capacity of potential trainers to conduct trainings at local level and facilitate comprehensive school safety planning process and safety drills at school levels.

The program brought together 36 participants from various agencies of diverse sectors. Representatives from 5 provinces—Bagmati, Lumbini, Madhesh, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim—attended the event, along with federal-level organizations, including Wild Conservation Nepal (WCN), Clean Up Nepal, the School Management Committee, PABSON, NSET, UNICEF and CEHRD.

The agenda covered a range of topics, starting with an introduction to climate change and its impact on schools, policy provisions of CSS, focusing on key strategies for climate change adaptation, mitigation, and the Green School concept. Further discussions revolved around the implementation of CSS, defining key actions, strategic activities, and the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders. Furthermore, technical sessions and group exercises on tools and CSS action planning and earthquake safety drill was covered. The program also emphasized the importance of integrating CSS action plans into School Improvement Plans (SIP) and other relevant planning processes to ensure practical implementation.

The program was highly interactive, featuring group exercises, practical activities, and strategy formulation discussions. These sessions enabled participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of CSS and equipped them with the necessary knowledge and tools to implement school safety initiatives effectively in their respective regions.
