A TOT (Training-of-Trainers) Presentation Session on Disaster/Earthquake Risks & Mitigation Measures in Nepal
Consortium Nepal, an umbrella non-profit organization working for child participation in Nepal, commenced its four-day (14th – 17th August, 2015) residential Training-of-Trainers on Life Skills and Peer Support program in the post-earthquake period. On its opening day, 14th August, 2015, National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) was invited as technical support to conduct a session for the same, participated by the dedicated participants from the fourteen earthquake hard-hit districts around the nation.
Mr. Khadga Sen Oli, Advocacy & Outreach Manager, NSET, on his one and a half hours presentation, tried to consolidate the topics such as disaster/earthquake risks faced by the country, various tried & tested measures to reduce the earthquake vulnerabilities as well as the impacts, possiblities of risk mitigation efforts at many levels of our society and on-going reconstruction efforts to recover from the devastating Gorkha Earthquake. There was also a brief discussion session at the end of the presentation which was well received by around 35 member participants representing various relevant support organizations affiliated to the Consortium Nepal.
