An interaction program on Urban Regeneration held on August 22, 2015 at Dhwakha Bahal, Asan of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC). The program was organized by Unified Housing Reconstruction Committee KMC Ward No.27 and National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) under the USAID/OFDA funded program 3PERM. The program discussed on the existing problems of Ward No. 27, its damage scenario, Repair and Reconstruction practices and how to move towards redeveloping a damaged area with the best possible outcome. The Programme manager of 3PERM, Mr. Surya Bhakta Sangachhe presented about the current scenario in the city core area of Kathmandu, the damage of the old and historical settlements in that area. Mr. Sangachhe highlighted the need to rearrange the settlement to get better access roads and other lifelines for the people in that area. Furthermore, the need for such regeneration was much more felt when he pointed out the cultural heritages and monuments are losing to encroachment, pollution, and all other outcomes of such unhealthy lifestyle.
