The first TOT training under the Baliyo Ghar program has concluded successfully
The Training for Trainers on Earthquake Resistant Construction Technology has concluded in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur on 3rd November 2015. The last day of training included individual presentation sessions of 10 minutes by each participant. The participants were graded and individual feedback was also given by the instructors. In the graduation ceremony, chaired by Dr. Ramesh Guragain, Deputy Executive Director of NSET-Nepal. Mr. Sameer Bajracharya on behalf of participants highlighted the learnings from the training that “What we learned from this training is the approach and methods of knowledge transformation skill to masons during site supervision, guidance and motivation. Infact, creating an atmosphere on exchanging ideas and skills with masons and treat them with respect”.
Among the instructors, Mr. Bijay Krishna Upadhyay presented the overall training report. He also urged the participants to apply the knowledge acquired during the training on the field and during trainings to the masons. Ms. Maggie, representative of Shelter Cluster Nepal, highlighted the importance of training for trainers to run the reconstruction projects smoothly. In the closing note, Dr. Guragain emphasized on the importance of collective efforts for reconstruction. He stated how the experiences gained by NSET during the reconstruction work at Pakistan after Pakistan Earthquake 2005 has helped Nepal at this situation to address the key issues on reconstruction efforts. He expressed his thanks to the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC), Shelter Cluster Nepal and the team from NSET-Nepal for successfully conducting the training.
