29 Trained Masons added at Ghorahi, Dang
To enhance the local capacity in building earthquake safe houses at the local level, Ghorahi Municipality, Dang has intensified its efforts. 29 more Masons and contractors representing different wards are added at the municipality. Along with this total 250 number of masons are trained at Ghorahi, Dang.
As a part of NSET's Building Code Implementation Program in Municipalities of Nepal (BCIPN) a five days mason training is accomplished at Ghorahi. Training started on 3rd April 2016, was the 8th edition of training on Earthquake Resistant Construction of Building for local masons and contractors.
Delivering his speech during opening ceremony, Mr. Tufan Singh KC, executive Chief of Ghorahi Municipality stated, 'It's difficult to implement Building code unless the trained mason doesn’t work in field. I request all of the participants to apply their skill on the field rather just to be participated.'
Training program was jointly organized by Ghorahi Municipality, Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Division Office, Dang and NSETs BCIPN program funded by USAID/OFDA.
