Earthquake Risk Perception Survey held in Chhintang, Dhankuta/ Phulek, Terathum/ Piple, Terathum
3 weeks long Earthquake Risk Perception Survey was being carried in Chhintang VDC of Dhankuta and two communities (Phulek and Piple) of Terathum districts. This survey covered existing knowledge and perception towards earthquake preparedness among locals. Survey were being carried out in all 9 wards of each community. The baseline survey is being undertaken by NSET as part of Earthquake without Frontiers (EwF) Partnership.
The survey had been carried out in close collaboration with local stakeholders; VDCs and municipalities. To contribute to the process, School of Social Work (NSSW) a research and institutional partner of the EwF Project Nepal mobilized two students to involve in data collection in various case study areas and assist research activities around field areas (Dhankuta and Terathum districts). Local mobilisers under Municipality/VDCs were also involved in conducting research activities. Field surveyors for the survey were taken based on their past experience. After the orientation surveyors were mobilized in field. The survey also aimed to give some message about earthquake during conducting survey to the locals. Research associate was actively involved in conducting as well coordinating survey at different wards. Survey Forms were being collected every day and the enumerators were being monitored in the field during survey.
