Training to Education Stakeholders on School-Based DRR/CCA and Comprehensive School Safety (CSS) held in Baitabi
A five day ‘District Level Training of Trainers on Comprehensive School Safety and School based DRR/CCA’ officially started on November 8, 2016 at Gothalapani, Baitadi. The training was organized by the Department of Education (DoE) and District Education Office, Baitadi with funding support from UNICEF Nepal and technical support from National Society for Earthquake Technology- Nepal (NSET).
The district education officer (DEO) of Baitadi Mr, Lal Singh Ter, inaugurated the training program. During the inaugural speech, Mr. Ter stressed the need for earthquake safety in education sector as schools are highly vulnerable. Further, he thanked UNICEF and NSET for supporting the Government to build capacity in school based DRR/CCA which would in turn help to implement DRR/CCA and CSS activities in the schools more effectively. 30 participants including DEO resource persons and staff of local NGOs from Baitadi, Achham and Bajura are taking part in the program.
