"Be the Local Champions for Reconstruction" appeals Nuwakot LDO to Social Mobilizers
Local Development Officer (LDO) of Nuwakot, Mr. Keshar Bahadur Pandit has encouraged Social Mobilizers deployed by District Development Committee (DDC), Nuwakot to be the Local Champions for Reconstruction. Addressing the Closing Ceremony of Five-Day Social Mobilizers’ Training organized under BaliyoGhar Program on 19th Dec 2016 at Bidur, Mr. Pandit said, "This is a historical opportunity that you have got, in terms of restructuring your society, making your community Better and Safer, let other districts see that you have done the best."
He appealed the participants to utilize the knowledge gained through the training to make the communities earthquake resilient. Mr. Pandit also extended gratitude to NSET/BaliyoGhar for organizing the event.
On the occasion, Senior Program Officer of DDC Nuwakot, Puskar Sharma said, "Unless and until the social mobilizers are not informed well on the methodologies and techniques for safer reconstruction, the community people will not be inspired. Hence, what NSET through BaliyoGhar is doing for reconstruction is quite praise worthy."
Er. Ayush Banskota, District Coordinator of BaliyoGhar for Nuwakot briefed the activities being done under the program whereas Training Coordinator, Bishnu Hadkhale highlighted the subjects discussed and activities done during the training. Om Kala Khanal, Social Mobilizer of NSET welcomed the guests and extended her thanks giving to the participants.
34 social mobilizers deployed by (DDC), Nuwakot participated the training with the objective of enhancing their knowledge on earthquake risk, safety, preparedness and safer reconstruction. The training (15 Dec–19 Dec 2016) was jointly organized by NRA, Secretariat of District Coordination Committee, Nuwakot, District Development Committee, Nuwakot and NSET with the funding support from USAID. This is the fifth Social Mobilizers’ Training held in the district under BaliyoGhar program.
