Basic Earthquake Resistant Design and Construction Training for engineer and sub-engineers of Bharatpur Municipality
23 engineers and sub engineers from Bharatpur municipality are now trained on basic earthquake resistant design and construction. A 3 day training program on ‘Basic Earthquake Resistant Design and Construction Training For engineer and sub-engineer’ was conducted in Bharatpur municipality during 24-26 Oct 2013. The training program was jointly organized by Bharatpur Municipality and NSET as a part of the Building Code Implementation in Municipalities of Nepal (BCIPN) program of NSET.
In the process to encourage the municipalities for effective compliance to and enforcement of the National Building Codes, NSET is conducting various programs in several municipalities of Nepal as a component of the BCIPN program implemented under the guidance and supervision of the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MOFALD) and Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) and with funding support from USAID/OFDA.
NSET is implementing the Building Code implementation Program (BCIPN) in 24 municipalities and the Project duration is August 2012 – July 2015. BCIPN envisions building upon and consolidation of the experiences, achievements and lessons learned from our pilot initiatives of assisting Lalitpur, Banepa, Dharan, and Vyas municipality in the past decade in building code implementation.
