LSAR and BEMR training for the officials of Plan Nepal
Three-day training on Light Search and Rescue (LSAR-1002) and One-day training on Basic Emergency Medical Response (BEMR-1001) was conducted in NSET, during 15-18 April, 2014 for the regional staffs of Plan International Nepal. The training was organized by Plan International Nepal with technical support from NSET at NSET Office, Bhainsepati,Lalitpur.
The training was conducted by a set of nine instructors from NSET. Altogether 24 staffs associated with Plan Nepal Country office and also field office of Banke, Makawanpur, Rautahat, Sindhuli, Morang and Sunsari got trained on Light Search and Rescue and Basic Emergency Medical Response. The training was very fruitful and markedly, good and organized standard of the training; equally competent instructors; good overall content very useful skills and mode of delivery, remained the impression from the participants.
Mr. Shyam Sundar Jnavaly, Disaster Risk Management Coordinator of Plan Nepal in his remarks highlighted the importance of this training, especially in achieving the “End Rescuers” from the local communities of Nepal and expressed his intention for conducting these types of training and advance trainings in the days to come for safer communities.
Emergency Response Trainings is intended to enable the participants to respond to disaster within their limitation prior to any assistance from other or professional rescuers. If the building is safe, they can perform Search and Rescue the victims. After they have extricated the victims, they will be further able to provide Basic Emergency Medical Response and finally transfer the victims to the Hospital
