18th Earthquake Safety Day marked in Dhading
18th Earthquake Safety Day has been marked in Dhadingbesi, the district headquarters of Dhading conducting a talk program on “Earthquake Risk Reduction, Reconstruction Process and Its Challenges”. The program was organized at DDC Dhading on 16 Jan 2016 in association with partner agencies in presence of officials from government offices viz. DUDBC, DDC, DDRC and DAO. They mainly focused on proper coordination of all governmental organization, NGOs and INGOs for efficient and smooth reconstruction process. The program was aired live through local media.
On the occasion of Earthquake Safety Day, National Society for Earthquake Technology- Nepal (NSET) has placed hoarding board with earthquake safety messages at five places of Dhadingbesi in collaboration with Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC), Division Office, Dhading.
As the second part of the Earthquake Safety Day program, Earthquake Housing Reconstruction Program (EHRP) District Level Project Implementation Unit (DL-PIU) Dhading Office was inaugurated by Secretary of Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development Mr. Madhav Prasad Regmi with the message of initiation of reconstruction in Dhading.
The inauguration program was followed by formal interaction program in presence of more than 200 participants from different government offices, security forces, I/NGOs, community organizations, and local people. The works done and to be done through DDRC after Gorkha Earthquake, the efforts made by INGOs and NGOs and the process of reconstruction were the main points discussed in the program. The participants focused on the need of skilled human resources (Engineers, Masons, Social Mobilizer etc) for smooth execution of reconstruction process.
