BALIYOGHAR: THIRD MASON TRAINING STARTS AT DOLAKHA


As part of the NSET's BaliyoGhar program third Mason Training program is being conducted at Bhimeshwor Municipality-12 Makaibari, Dolakha. Training started on 17th April will run for seven days.

31 masons from ward 12 & 13 are participating in the Stone Masonry Training Program, where two of them are females. The training is focusing on enhancing the different techniques for earthquake resistant buildings of stone masonry with timber and RC band.  Most of the participants are excited to learn new techniques or upgrade their old experiences to build safer houses under the supervision of engineers.

Training course has been jointly organized by Department of Building Construction and Urban Development (DUDBC), Division Office, Dolakha and NSET-BaliyoGhar with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with Bhimeshwor Municipality. Earlier a ToT on Mason Training has been conducted focusing for Dolakha district. Similarly, NSET- BaliyoGhar has already organized two Mason Training Programs at Dolakha.
 
Baliyo Ghar program is an initiative to support the Government of Nepal’s model of owner-driven housing reconstruction following the April 25, 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. NSET is providing technical assistance to 13 VDCs and 1 Municipality in Dolakha for safer reconstruction through BaliyoGhar Program
