33 more trained masons have been added in Dolakha district with the completion of fifth stone masonry training at Chilankha VDC. The masons from wards-1,2, 3 and 4 participated in the Training, where they were trained to enhance the different techniques for earthquake resistant stone-mud and timber buildings.
After the completion of training, all the participants acknowledged the Baliyo Ghar team whereas one of the participants Mr. Prem Kumar Shrestha shared,’We are very encouraged by the training. We will first build a earthquake resistant model of stone-mud and timber made building in our own VDC, then only we will start to build other houses in the VDC.’
The training course has been jointly organized by Department of Building Construction and Urban Development (DUDBC), Division Office, Dolakha and National Society for Earthquake Technology - Nepal (NSET) in collaboration with Chilankha VDC and with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Earlier a ToT on Mason Training and three Stone Masonry Training and one Reinforced Concrete Mason Training Program have already been accomplished at Dolakha.
