Orientations held in 6 VDCs of Dolakha simultaneously
In second week of June, NSET-BaliyGhar 'Team Dolakha' kept itself busy in orienting the local communities of Dolakha on earthquake risk, safety and preparedness. Several orientation programs are being held in Malu, Lamidada, Bhirkot, Jhule, Chilankha, Laduk VDC as part of BaliyoGhar awareness campaign.
Locals discuss the techniques and methodology to build the earthquake resistant homes with BaliyoGhar team. Local peoples including house owners, masons, teachers, farmers, students and house-wives are participating with much excitement. They thank BaliyoGhar Team Dolakha for sharing the technical ideas in building earthquake resilience society, safety and preparedness as well.
One of the participants Mr. Kumodh Raj Yogi at Malu VDC-8, Gupteshwor said, “This orientation program is very informative regarding earthquake safety and preparedness and other technical parts as well. It would be fine if program also awares various groups through door to door campaign.”
Further, masons of different VDCs are showing their willingness to involve in Mason Training Program at their locality where NSET-BaliyoGhar program is planning to.
USAID funded #BaliyoGhar program is an initiative to support the Government of Nepal’s model of owner-driven housing reconstruction following the Gorkha Earthquake. NSET is providing technical assistance to 13 VDCs and 1 Municipality in Dolakha district for safe reconstruction through #BaliyoGhar Program.
