aliyoGhar: Sixteenth Mason Training starts in Dhading


One more mason training is now undergoing in Nilkantha Municipality, Murali Bhanjyang-8, Dhading. Altogether 34 participants having work experience in rural construction are adding knowledge and skills on earthquake resistant construction techniques. The 7-Day course intends to enhance technical skills of construction actors and use that locally for the safer re/construction.

This is the sixteenth episode of mason training series conducted jointly by Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC)-Dhading, Nilkantha Municipality and National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET-Nepal) under the program BaliyoGhar with the funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Nepal).

At the time of collecting expectations one of the participants named Nar Bahadur Lamsal expressed that “he has not any idea about mud mortar and stone masonry buildings and he wants to learn to the best he can learn and hone the expertise for constructing earth quake resistant buildings in his locality. He further stressed that “since masons are directly involved on constructing houses, mason’s skill is very important to enhance”.

The training will run during 24th -30th September 2016.
