Disaster Resilient Communities in Nepal by 2050

Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) Course starts at 03 Bn NDRF, India


National Society for Earthquake Technology - Nepal (NSET) in collaboration with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) India is conducting Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) Course at 03 Battalion NDRF from December 8 - 15, 2016 under PEER Stage 4 (2014-2019) Partial Funding Assistance Program (PFAP). There are 21 NDRF personnel from different battalions of NDRF who have successfully completed MFR course recently concluded at the same venue. The instructor's team is comprised of instructors and assistant instructors from NDRF and 4 paramilitary forces of India namely:  Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). A senior PEER-certified regional instructor from Nepalese Army has been assigned as Monitor to this course, for ensuring quality control and upholding PEER course and program standards. 

CSSR course provides individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to search for, stabilize and extricate victims trapped in collapsed structures using the safest and most appropriate procedures.
PEER is a regional training program funded by the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) since 1998. PEER Stage 4 is being implemented by NSET in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan.
