Earthquake Memorial Meeting held in historical Monument of Bhugol Park
Commemorating 1934 Devastating Earthquake, Kathmandu Metropolitan City organized Earthquake Memorial Meeting at the historical Earthquake Monument at Bhugol Park, New Road, Kathmandu.
Hon. Home Minister Mr. Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ in his brief note mentioned about the irreparable losses of past earthquakes that remains the tragic memory for all of us.
Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mr. Bidya Sundar Shakya stated that coming to the monument keeps us reminding about those people who lost lives in past earthquakes and gives us strength to work together so that future earthquake would incur less losses.
Mr. Nilkaji Shakya, Ward Chairperson and Head of Disaster Management Committee of Metropolitan City opened the meeting with key notes of his heartfelt condolences to the people we lost in past earthquakes.
Government Officials, Elected Representatives, Security Officials and participants from various sections gathered on the occasion paid tributes in memory of all those who had lost their lives in past earthquakes.
On the occasion, Hon. Minister Thapa and Mayor Shakya had also released “Disaster focused Information Directory” published by Metropolitan City.
