Instructor development courses on Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) being conducted in Nepal

Courses on Community Action for Disaster Response – Training for Instructors/Instructors' Workshop (CADRE-TFI/IW) have started in Nepal with the view to add one more lot of qualified trainers on the theme. Under the USAID/OFDA supported Program for Enhancement of Emergency Response (PEER), NSET is conducting the courses in collaboration with Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) during 11-18 May, 2019 in Sauraha, Chitwan. A total of 25 participants have joined the course with 10 female participants and 15 male participants. The participants are from different parts of the country; Kailali, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Solukhumbu, Dang etc. A team of 10 instructors with 1 Monitor, 1 Course Coordinator, 5 Full Instructors and 3 Assistant Instructors and 1 NSET representative involved in the training.

This CADRE-TFI/IW program aims to provide training to the participants to become future regional CADRE instructors. This is 8 day long course where the participants are trained about Training for Instructors (TFI) and then they have to take over the CADRE lessons and act as instructor presenting the lessons and getting evaluated by the team of instructors. This is a pass fail course where the participants should achieve a certain score to pass the course. The participants group which has been a diverse group with teachers, volunteers, fire fighters, social mobilizer, students etc. seems very enthusiastic to the content of courses.
