Vyas Municipality and NSET signed MoU to prepare Vyas Municipality’s RSLUP
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Vyas Municipality and NSET to prepare the Risk Sensitive Land Use Plan (RSLUP) of the Vyas municipality. On this RSLUP; hazard, vulnerability, risk and capacity information are integrated into the land use plan.
This plan guides relevant risk reduction measures to protect and prioritize investments in urban development and infrastructures of Vyas Municipality. Mr. Baikuntha Neupane, Mayor of Vyas Municipality and Mr. Surya Narayan Shrestha, Executive Director of NSET signed the MoU on March 10, 2022.
On the base of Nepal’s National Land Use Policy and Guideline; NSET team will study Vyas Municipality’s urbanization and growth trend, carry out Multi Hazard Risk Assessment, study existing land use plan, discussions with communities and municipal leaders and then prepare Risk Sensitive Land Use Plan (RSLUP).
The study and preparation of RSLUP is planned complete within six months on leadership of Vyas Municipality.
