GHI and NSET conduct Mason Training in Godawari Municipality
As a part of capacity enhancement of local masons, a training has been conducted to the group of masons involved in the construction of a new building (RCC structure) of Shree Laxmi Secondary School at Budhitola of Godawari Municipality in Kailali district.
The 7-day training has been conducted by National Society for Earthquake Technology - Nepal (NSET) with the support from Geo-Hazards International (GHI) under School Earthquake Safer program, and in collaboration with Godawari Municipality. The course runs during April 24-30, 2023.
The training aims enhancing the skill of the working masons and honing their knowledge & skills on earthquake resistant construction which is missing during their years-long experience. Total 27 masons including 21 male and 6 female participated in the training.
The GHI funded School Earthquake Safer Program is an initiative to support the Government of Nepal’s Building Code implementation. NSET is implementing the program and providing technical support to Godawari Municipality in construction of a building of Shree Laxmi Secondary School.
